How To Wear Pleated Trend

Even though we are used to seeing pleats on skirts, they are not the same as girls' school uniform. Out on the streets, many have been rocking this trend. The trend comes in form of skirts, jumpers, trousers but it can also cover only a part of a clothing piece- sleeves for example. I see it mostly on skirts with various colour schemes, lenghts and size- micro pleats, I am sure you're seen those too.

Summer Clothing Sales 2017

I hope you all have been saving because some pretty items are on sale and you better hurry to grab your favourites while they're on stock. You can check out some of my selections below. Happy shopping!

Avon Pink Summer

First day of summer is here and with that I have a new post for you. First of all, I have a good reason for being MIA. Yesterday I had taken last exam ever! And I was putting all my energy into it so I could pass. The results aren't here yet but the thought of being so close to the end of this era is indescribable. When I look back and think that I (like most of us out there) went to school for twenty years! It is impossible to imagine life without it as I am waiting for this final thought to really sink in- I know it will hit me maybe in a year or two but definitely not now.

Summer Pamper Routine

I keep changing my routine, either in the morning or evening. For some period it sticks but then I switch to something else. Right now I have a thing for gentle scents. On the other hand, it is a time to pull out products rich with coconut incorporated ingredient. I keep coconut flavoured hand sanitizer (from Balea) with me at all times and whenever I use it, my friends want a piece of it. Not for its purpose but for its lovely essence.

Dove brand hasn't received any bad remarks from my side and with a chance to try out new duo from Purely Pampering enriched with coconut milk and jasmine petals. You can smell jasmine right away and it helps creating calm atmosphere. It is creamy and a little goes a long way in its case. You don't need much to get bubbly loofa. ๐Ÿ˜Š

How To Wear Metallics

Wearing metallics can be bold and that's why can also represent a challenge of styling. I would stress out that less is more. Having one metallic piece is already enough and you can start from there slowly, adding statement accessories.

1. Metallic jacket I wore here is leather-like from Zuiki that I was glad to have found when I was in Italy. It's cropped but has nice touches such as gold zippers on both sleeves and a belt at the bottom. It is an attractive piece and statement too. I could have it styled as the heart of the outfit and leave everything else casual.

Best Summer Nail Varnish

I belong to those ninety percent (*made up number) of the people who wear darks on their nails only during cold seasons and brights during warm seasons. But I have an affection for painting my nails in various colours every other time. When it comes to the polishes, I think you can never have too many shades (the same goes for lipsticks). I have aquired summer appropriate polishes from different but high street brands and my popular has to be the duet from Kiko Milano.

Styling summer velvet top & embroidery bag

Adventures hide in different forms. To some it can be an action, full of adrenaline such as bungee jumping or skydiving. To others, it can be discovering new places or new things... either way, it brings us joy and makes us richer.

On Sunday we were headed to one direction but on our way there we saw a ruin on the hill. We had no idea what it was, I admit, that is how much I know the surroundings. But we had time and our curiosity needed to be satisfied. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We inserted a route to the GPS and headed there. We parked a little away and walked all the way up.

How to Set Up Your Goals | Monday Motivation

Short term goals

I know I am efficient with shorter time range setting goals because they're close to achieve and I won't get bored with the same routine again and again without seeing the results soon. So admittedly, those are the goals I know I will accomplish for sure.

Let's say I need to know what to do this week in order to prepare for Friday's exam. I will make a table of hourly schedule where I will fill in the time I have for studying and what chapter I will start with and how many I need to cover until then. Once I set up the time and the pages to learn everyday, I set up the mind to follow the plan. I allow myself free time in between the studying so I give my mind a break and to recharge. And most importantly, I stop when I overexert myself. I know it won't do any good if I can't focus. The pages I scroll, won't count as 'passed' because I took no notice of them. That is why it is fine to finish beforehand. If you didn't meet today's goal, it is possible that you planned too much for the day. You can still meet the outlined outcome.

Affordable lenses: Visiomax Contact lenses

'What? You wear lenses?' I wish I didn't. ๐Ÿ‘“ I had a long break from lenses since the beginning of Uni. My eyes were continuously irritated and that is when I knew I needed a time-off. Not too long ago I purchased new ones from dm drugstore once I saw a review in a fellow blogger’s post. I picked up two different ones as I don't have the same dioptre. You can buy them separately just for this reason and in case you lose one you don't need to empty your wallet for a 6-pack of lenses for both eyes.

What they offer in dm stores
In the shop you can find daily and monthly contact lenses. Monthly lenses offer a selection of dioptre from -1.00 to -6.50 and daily lenses have dioptre from -0.75 to -5.00 (with 0.25 intervals in between). The price for each monthly lens is 3,5 € (dm Slovenija). Selection of contact solutions is divided into: CombiSolution, CombiSolution with Hyaluron, Sodium Chloride Solution, CombiSolution Super and PeroxideSolution Comfort Super. All are in 360 ml but you can find CombiSolution Super in 60 ml packaging as well. Price range is from 5-10 €. And lastly, you can find a container box for lenses for 2 €.

My picks
I am short-sighted and with -3.25 on my right eye and -3.50 on my left eye I need to wear glasses all the time (unless I want to embarrass myself by calling a stranger out on the street. Which happened. ๐Ÿ˜† I thought it was my friend). I have chosen monthly lenses for starters.

Monday Motivation | Keep pushing on and don't quit

Happy Monday and welcome to a new week and with that- a new blog post. You will be seeing more of posts on positivity and personal stories in it. I want to share my own uncomfortable and embarrassing happenings and what I learned from it. In a way I am hoping to show you that we are all only humans, we have good days and we have bad days. In the end it is all about how you react and what you take from it.

Beauty Bits: Avon Luxe

In the package I received via mail not long ago hid all eye makeup products. As I cannot focus on my face while I have dry patches around my nose, I always love testing out eye makeup and lip products. This time I am bringing you Avon Luxe range that looks very luxurious and is something I would display on my vanity (if I had one ๐Ÿ™Š).

Travel With Me: One Day, Three Cities | Italy

On Saturday I had a whole day reserved just for the touristic activities in the neighboring Italy. After a four hour drive we arrived at a location that holds many beautiful places, amongst them were Torri Del Benaco, Sirmione and Verona that I went to see.

Torri Del Benaco
Early in the morning we had a fresh start in Torri Del Benaco, a small town by the Lake Garda in Italy. The place offered quite a few sights even with such a small settlement. We started our journey from Castello Scaligero that hides The Scaliger Castle Museum. The castle itself was restored a few times before and today's appearrance was built originally in 14th Century, in place of older ruins. That makes it more than seven hundred years old!

Styling High Low Hemline Shirt

When high low hemline trend first came out, I didn't purchase anything in such fashion. I didn't feel attracted to wear it in dress form which is what every shop stocked upon. I don't mind wearing statement pieces that are out of fashion or old season as long as they're statement, my style and wearable. I found this black shirt with long hemline at the back and was deciding if I should purchase it and how would I wear it. Eventually, after trying it on, I went for it which turned out a good decision.

Blush Blouse

Happy Monday! I am writing this post on Sunday and in a rush because I would like to fully enjoy this beautiful day. Some of you might know (insta muffins) that I have purchased another lens which has been tested for the first time in today's post.

Black Crop Top & Brown Blazer

Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was a bliss and you're now ready for a new week. I am most energetic when sunshine walks across the sky. I ove this season and I think you can tell. ๐Ÿ˜Š If we put aside the fact that I have a snotty nose and can't hear anything through my left ear, I am content right now.

Striped Blue Shirt & Bell Sleeves

Last time I wore a top with bell sleeves was when I was thirteen years old (7th grade). We were visiting friends in Germany and one day we were checking out clothing stores and I fell in love with one black top with very thin white stripes and quite wide bell pleated sleeves. Oh, how proud I wore that top! It was so special to me and no one else had anything like it which made it even more precious. I know the sleeves made it challenging to eat and it was hard to avoid dipping them in everything on the table but as long it looked good on, I felt good.

How To Style Flared Jeans

Many out there rave about 70s fashion coming back but my closest encounter to this special decade is That 70's Show where Mila Kunis's fashion sense made anyone envious. Not everyone can look that good in a loose blouse, braided headband and flared jeans. But there are a few tips on how we can modernize it into current decade, in my opinion that is an even better challenge. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Black and Grey

Hello and hope you're having a good week so far! If everything is in order, then by now I am sitting patiently in the cinema hall, waiting for the start of Beauty and the Beast. This post is pre-written and scheduled and even the network failure couldn't stop it from uploading (local network failure anyway). If you're one of the early birds who has seen the movie tell me, did you liked it?

Tripping in Idrija

Instead of travelling for a few days and far away to a different country, this weekend we chose Idrija area to explore. To think of it, you can find treasures nearer home you haven't discovered yet. We chose Idrija county because there are several sights closer to each other and we planned to see a few.

New from C&A

New season, new excuse for shopping? As long as you keep it under restriction. ๐Ÿ˜ I have been enjoying all the vlogs and insta stories from Fashion Weeks and finding inspiration. I am upgrading my wardrobe but keeping it simple with latest trip to the mall. I have grabbed a few items but I kept a few away from this post so I can encourage your curiosity to wait for ootds.

Spring Transitioning

Transitioning, lightweight jackets and trenchcoats along with cardigans are coming out of the wardrobe. Where I live, it is still chilly in the morning but in the afternoon you can enjoy a very nice day (even more with the sun out). In such cases it may not be sufficient to ditch the padded jacket and walk around in a sweater, so another layer comes in handy.

The main thing I like about cardigans, is the thickness (since they're (in most cases) woven) providing a good amount of warmth as a shield from the cold. Secondly, I choose only those that are thigh or knee lenght because it covers a great portion of your body, sort of making it isolated. And also, it looks like a coat and if you choose a beautiful one, then it is a win purchase.

10 Recent Beauty & Makeup Items I Purchased

Getting a gift card is always welcomed but I know even if I got a small or big amount on it, I will still get overboard with my purchases. Especially when it comes to makeup. I managed to buy only what I needed the most, with one exception that was on sale and I was curious to try it (since it was a hair product of a brand I trust).
I am a faithful user of essence, there is no denying it. I own a brow duo set powder since forever and not too long ago I purchased a jumbo eyebrow pencil (see it here). As if I don't have enough brow makeup sets, I dearly wanted to own an eyebrow gel. For those who don't know, my most precious part of the face are my eyebrows. Hence the need to test or buy brow products. I know this is a haul post but I am proud to say I have tried it out and was satisfied with the application and durability. It has a wet feeling when applying it on but it dries out and stays in place for a long time. To top off my brow collection, I purchased a spoolie from Body&Soul for combing my brows before applying anything.

How I Style Faux Fur Jacket

About a month ago I received this beautiful Orsay faux fur jacket from my mum and sister and I have worn it three times, two times (including today) you can see it on my blog. It is a shame that I can't get more use of it this winter as temperatures are rising and spring is starting to show (which frankly I don't mind).

1. Every time I wear it I need high waisted jeans because the jacket is cropped short and doesn't even cover my bum (don't mind my realistically explanations). If you are model height then the jeans choice may be irrelevant to you. As I am petite, low waisted trousers would shorthen my legs even more and make me looking like a dwarf.

What I Wore to Avon Event

Rushing around and packing things for Nรผrnberg was the day when I received an invitation from Avon to join their presentation of a new range Mark. in collaboration with Nika Veger. I remember writing a quick reply to expect me in a week before leaving to Germany. This passed weekend, I was tired and my mind was away from upcoming event. Only on Monday did I realize I have something to participate in.

Gift bits I got for my birthday

On Wednesday afternoon I started off a journey to Nรผrnberg; to the organic fair to be exact where I was travelling under a company I work for at the moment. We were a part of a cosmetic section in a hall that is much bigger than a hall here in Ljubljana. This was the first serious (and business focused) event I was part of. I only started working for the company and really didn't know what to expect. I think I can say for us all that this was an eye-opener and a preparation for the next fair which is happening in March. And just as this time, I doubt I will have any time for sight-seeing. I kept my promise and kept you posted on everything that was happening through my snapchat account and insta stories. I plan the same next month, so be prepared. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Grey hues

I hope you all had a great weekend! This week I will be leaving to Nรผrnberg for three days regarding the work so I believe today's post will be the only one this week. I will try to get some photos while there but I am not sure how much free time we will have for exploring. If not, then I guess I will have to return to the city in the future just for exploring the city and letting myself being a tourist.

Birthday Celebration

This Tuesday I invited my circle of friends for a little soirรฉe in the evening where I provided the food of course, drinks, decorations and board games. I was happy to see everyone took time to come and hang out. It was the first time I organized something like this gathering (all friends in one place, I mean).

Faux Fur Jacket

Orsay can sometimes really impress and surprise me. It wasn't that long ago when I stumbled upon a great deal for my red bag purchase. Then a few months ago I have found this faux fur jacket that looks a good quality for an even better price. I also went to Orsay only a few days ago and found an amazing pair of trousers but let's get a grip. ๐Ÿ˜› Maybe I will still have a chance to present them on blog.

Khaki Bomber Jacket

It's too cold to be wearing only a bomber jacket no matter how thick it is. I couldn't wait for warm days to arrive to show you how to style it. First I wanted to dress it up and the easiest way to do so would be wearing some high heels. With a change of heart, I opted for white ankle high sneakers Nike Air Force. Since the jacket itself is on the cropped side, I had a chance to wear high waisted jeans (also from H&M). I am amazed how a pair of jeans can change the entire look- it highlights your curves and elongates your legs.

Cute and Warm Winter Boots (found on sale)

Keeping up with promotions and sales isn't something I do on a daily basis but I like to check if a certain store has a discount when I need anything. It so (luckily!) happened when I was in need of a new pair of shoes, Deichmann had a "second pair of shoes is half off". I reacted pretty quickly and the store was already deprived of most shoes, sizes and even bags. While one pair was available in every size still, I had difficulty finding a pair of winter (knee-high) boots. In the end I opted for these and good thing too- they were last. I needed ones without heel and bonus is that they're padded inside for extra warmth. ๐Ÿ˜Š
In the next couple of weeks, you can expect outfit posts where I will be wearing both pairs.

Thank you for reading and I will talk to you Friday.
Have a great Monday!

My Latest Beauty Purchase: essence and Avon

False eyelashes
I never satisfied my curiosity of wearing false eyelashes even though they're constantly mentioned and worn by others. Just for the fun, I bought a pair of 'lashes to impress' in 03 half lashes from essences and a lash glue. I didn't know one comes in a set in a mini size so I bought the full version as well. I applied them on twice already but not even once did they stuck. Neither glue nor lashes met my expectations. When I'd get the glue on and waited for thirty seconds, I had difficulty with getting them as close to my lashes as I can. And if by any chance would succeed to apply them correctly, the ends would stick out no matter how hard I tried to hold them in place. I had extra layer of glue applied just on ends and everytime the same story would happen. I think they're too unbendable to shape them around my natural lash line. Since this is my first ever purchase of falsies, I said I'd give another try to individual lashes (maybe I just need a different kind of falsies to get it right) so I'll keep you posted in the near future. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Jumbo eyebrow pencil
Maybe it's me but I think everything about makeup that comes in bigger size, makes life easier. No matter what it was- the big oval foundation brush or jumbo lipstick pen, it has won me over (so far). I have faithfully been using brow powder duo set for my brows but since I got this 'make me brow' jumbo eyebrow pencil, I've switched up my makeup routine. I will continue to use both as I only need two strokes per brow to finish my look in both cases; it is only a matter of preference I have that day.
Transparent powder
A reason behind this choice was simple: instead of purchasing a tinted compact powder and being dissapointed when coming home and noticing it's not even the right colour, I turned to transparent 'all about matt' fixing compact powder that does the exact job as the rest; sets the foundation in place and matifies too oily foundations. This one was marked as a fantastic product by beauty gurus I follow loyally and they were right. For the prize, it's an amazing powder.
Avon Supreme Nourishing Lipsticks are the new thing at Avon. Incredible consistency design (see the photos) and rose gold packaging is something to add to collection. Even though I have a few nude colours, I am glad when I get moisturizing ones. Avon Nourishing lipsticks feel buttery and glide on easily. With nude lipstick (Nurturing Nude) I don't get enough pigmentation but applying an extra layer is not much work. Supple Magenta, however, has enough pigmentation and also has a slight shimmer.
Left: Subtle Magenta* // Right: Nurturing Nude*
(*PR products)

I am already choosing my next beauty purchase; do you have any recommendations?

Also, previous week I posted only one post and this week will be the same. However, from next week on, you can expect two posts per week, as usual.

Have a nice week!

Fashion Fraction: First Haul of 2017

We are one week into the new year and I already have to show you new purchases. I haven't received everything this year, actually. I have spent a lot of time in the city at the end of December. Bomber jacket is from H&M and is one piece my eyes caught immediately. I wasn't sure whether to get it though. Luckily, I had my sister with me and in this case it is great to have a shopping companion to tell you if something fits you, is your style and if it is a piece you'll definitely wear. Right now sales are happening and a bomber jacket, just as high-waisted jeans were found in that section.
The jacket was fifteen euros (in the shops; but the website has different prices- does anyone know why is that?) and jeans were only ten. They were the first high-waisted jeans I bought and wore after a very, very long time (think ten years ago and more). They're super elastic and fit perfectly in waist and legs area- that never happened, even with low waist jeans. They're slightly longer; the only 'default' really but I can always tailor them.
Earrings in Dior style were an unexpected but very appreciated gift. I always had them for a jewelry piece that I didn't know if I wanted to buy them but would love to try out if I had a chance. Raise your hand if you know how difficult some undecisions are. ๐Ÿ˜‰ However, I find them elegant and the detailing is quite unique. My sister chose ones in silver and sprinkled with little diamonds (not real though). Mine are gold as you can see and have one tiny little diamond at the bottom of each earring.
First of all, I'd like to pinpoint that the next item is faux. You'll never see me wear real fur, leather or suede on this blog (or anywhere else). The trend of faux furs is big this year and it sucked me in. I always admired the pieces but never had the courage to get one. This faux fur jacket was on sale in Orsay in natural colours and I knew I wanted it right away. There was one in black and white and it was much more elegant but they hadn't had it in my size. Still, this one is equally beautiful and I am happy to have it. Now I only need to start planning on how to represent these novelties in my outfit posts. ๐Ÿ˜„

Have a great week ahead.

Melvita Organic Argan Oil

Basic information
A small product was presented to me back at the bloggers event and I've been using it loyally ever since. We are discussing 50 ml glass bottle container with a plastic pump for an easy use. All of the ingredients are 100 % from natural origin (Argania Spinosa Oil, in this case) and it is to be the first cold-pressing organic oil. The price is 19,90 € on the Official Melvita* webpage or 25 € in the international online store Feelunique
*Slovenian website (prices may be different in your local country)

When it comes to using and applying the oil, it says you can use it on your hair, face and skin/body. I've tested it out on my hair first and I usually apply it on my damp hair and then leave it on (no rinsing). But I also use it on my dry hair mostly. When I see my ends are very dry and get that split-ends look, I take four (yes, four) pumps of oil for hair hydration and shine.

The second, you can apply it to your face. Here I take one half of the pump for my most dry area of the face (forehead, nose, cheeks) and rub it in. It takes seconds to soak up the product while it nourishes the skin. It easily gets rid of any flakes around my nose area while it keeps other places moisturized and glowy without looking oily. You do need to be careful not to apply too much of the oil.

As it regards the body/rest of the skin, I have tried it out only on my legs (shaving and scrubbing tends to leave this area very vulnerable to dryness). I use two to four pumps for both legs and the results are pleasing. Again, the oil soaks up nicely and it leaves the skin shiny and soft and moisturized for some time.

I've tested the product on all areas and it has proven great. I had several doubts at first because I have already tested one oil from Melvita before and it didn't showed good results. This one has been an outstanding product that worked fully whenever and wherever tried. I wouldn't advise this product for those with oily skin. But if you're struggling with dry patches or tightness of the skin, then I encourage you to try it out.
Do you know any other good oil products?

Until next week,
xx Maja

Grey Happiness

I hope you had a fantastic New Year celebration and that you are fully ready to start new beginnings. I had a long break with few things that needed my full attention. I took time to see relatives and I am especially happy to see the ones I don't get to see often. One day I was welcomed by the first snow- it left scarce patches of white behind that were gone within hours.

Right after the first of January Leja and I decided to start shooting for our blogs. I wanted a fresh look for a fashion category and for that I borrowed Leja's grey coat from Dorothy Perkins. Its great advantage is the length to keeps your legs warm. I had a moment to imagine I was a part of a movie were a person is facing a huge discovery and is pulling a box of cigarettes out of a coat to help think better. Lol ๐Ÿ˜Š

The sun in photos looks warm but unfortunately it was freezing so I had to wear boots and knited sweater. You know my slightly cropped Bonjour jumper from older posts (a trip to Versailles). I had someone ask me where it's from and it's from H&M but I think they don't stock it anymore.
I thank you for reading and I will talk to you soon.
